Hudson Valley Chapter Gathering
   This year our Gathering will be at the Front Street Tavern on North Front Street, Kingston, at 3:00. I know that several of you have already responded to Louise Bigando (, but she is still waiting for a few replies.      
   Don't forget to bring a $20. Koi or pond related grab bag gift for our fun exchange. We will be able to order off the vast menu and ask for separate checks.

Central Chapter Meeting

Hudson Valley Koi and Water Garden Chapter Meeting

Our next Chapter meeting will be held at the home of John and Rosemary Vena in Elizaville, NY. As this year is beginning to come to a close there are many changes that are taking place and have taken place. We have lots to talk about. South Chapter Meeting

The September meeting of the South Chapter will be hosted by Margie Linn a long time MAKC member, at 1:30 pm on Sunday September 15, 2019, in Arlington VA. 

Margie’s pond was built in 1996-1997 using classic Japanese Koi Pond Theory (at the time) for filtration.  The pond is 3,200 gal in a kidney-shape with 800 gal in filtration.  The pond incorporates a stream bed that falls into the pond over a spill-way in a Japanese-style garden. It is 21' long, 7.5-10' wide, 4' deep, with two settling chambers and a bio filter. Margie has been a member of MAKC since 1996 and frequently visits Japan.
