We have SO much we want to share with you we had to add another page!!
South Chapter meeting held on 6/12/22 at the home of Margie in Arlington Va. The meeting was well attended, with 17 club members. The agenda for the meeting was to update members on club business and then to demonstrate how to catch and prepare koi for transport. For some members, this was their first time seeing how koi are packaged and transported. A great learning experience for all.
.
The MAKC has four chapters, and we were happy to have members from each chapter to be able to attend this event! It was wonderful to be able to meet and share this experience! A few of our members had previously visited with you, but for most of us, it was a wonderful first-time experience. We want to thank Brian and his crew for sharing their hospitality and providing our members with a fun and educational tour of the facilities. It was explained how the fish they bring over from Japan are cared for when they arrive at their facility and how they quarantine them.
We filled our bellies with a wonderful lunch that was provided for us by Fitz's and their crew and got to speak with them more about Fitz farm. Most of us left for home with beautiful koi additions for our ponds. Our VP Rosemary was thrilled with her new Showa and Goshiki who are now exploring and fitting right into their new environment, (she has been searching for them for a while now) Thanks again and we look forward to visiting again!
Joe and Linda Defalco, Sr. hosted our May koi meeting of the LI Chapter.
Rich Iasparo our VP talked about how to treat for Spring parasites.
Joe and Linda had some excellent food for the members. Thank you both for hosting the meeting and showing us your beautiful pond and backyard.
Their pond is 6000 gallons with a homemade filter system that works excellent with four bottom drains going to a gravity filter system.
. We had excellent weather and everybody had a good time. Joe went into the water to dig out some pond lilies to give to some members.
