Walter and Tara's mountainside stream and pond in NY

Walter and Tara have constructed their stream and pond into the mountainside of their home that was naturally there already! They have taken what the surrounding property has given them and added to it. We all had a wonderful time in June at the monthly meeting of the MAKC Hudson Valley Chapter meeting, held at Walter and Tara's home.

Hudson Valley Chapter Meeting in Upstate NY

The September meeting for the MAKC Hudson Valley Chapter was held at the home of Herb and Kris. They live in Athens, NY tucked away in the woods of upstate NY. They took the time to create their pond to look as natural as possible and blend into the property around them. It is still a work in progress as all ponds usually are!

We would like to thank Alex and Bonnie of Long Island Chapter for hosting the August Koi meeting. We had a nice weather with a soft breeze from the ocean near by. Bonnie had prepared some nice sandwiches and drinks plus some members brought some nice desserts for our members to enjoy.

.The pond is approximately 12'X40' with depths from 12" to 36". Gallons of water for the dimensions given is around 3500 gals.

The construction on this contemporary 2600 gal pond was completed April 2021. It is home to 11 Koi and 2 goldfish. Noel Jamison resides in Waldorf Md.

Joann & Robert's pond in Annapolis Md. The pond is 1600 gals and installed by the owners. A pond net covering the roof and sides for heron protection.
